About
Why one sailor decided to give it all away.
Boat For Sail started the way a lot of good things do: someone who loves something deciding the world would be better if more people could share it.
A lifetime in and around sailing — on the water and in the industry — teaches you one hard thing: cost and access keep people off boats who would have loved it. Meanwhile a screen-shaped world makes hands-on, full-body skills rarer every year. Sailing is the opposite of all that. It asks for your full presence and gives back something a simulation never can.
So instead of holding onto what we know, Boat For Sail gives it away — the curriculum, the videos, the boat plans, and a network that gets new people onto the water.
The people
(Founder bio — add a short paragraph.)
- [Founder name] — Founder & CEO. A line about a lifetime around boats and why making sailing free, for everyone, is worth doing.
Boat For Sail is built by volunteers who believe the same thing: that the best skills are the ones you pass on. If that’s you, come help — there’s room.
Where this is going
We’re at the beginning. The nonprofit is in formation, the curriculum is drafted, the boat is on the drawing board, and the first videos are being planned. If any of this resonates, come help — there’s room.
